Hot Glass Workshops
We run a few types of Hot Glass Workshops in the craft of Lampworking which is the art of heating glass rods until they are molten and wrapping them around a metal rod to create glass beads.
This process has been around forever and is mesmerising as you watch glass change from solid to molten and then into a beautiful glass bead.
Skye Petho has been creating with hot glass for over 20 years and will guide you through the process with patience in a safe environment.
This workshop involves the use of an open flame and molten glass so is not suitable for anyone younger than 15.

Mini Bead Making Workshop
In this workshop you will be guided in the creation of three glass beads.
The workshop is an experience that allows you to try something new. It has been created as a fun, fast and affordable way to enjoy the process of hot glass creation with a duration of approx. 1 hour.
This workshop is run with 1 student at a time.

½ Day Hot Glass Workshop
In this workshop you will be guided in the creation of glass beads through the process of Lampworking.
The workshop is a half day that allows you learn some of the basics of working with glass to create beads. It has been created as a fun, fast and affordable way to learn some of the basic processes of hot glass creation with a duration of 4 hour.
This workshop is run with 1 student at a time.
You will learn the following in this workshop-
Creating plain beads
Designs using dots
basic shapes
All materials and tuition are included in the workshop fee.

Choose your own adventure Glass Workshop
In this workshop you will tell me what you want to learn!
The workshop is a half day that allows you to build on the skills you already have in Lampworking. It has been created as a way for you to extend your skills in the processes of hot glass creation with a duration of 4 hour.
This workshop is run with 1 student at a time and is for students who have completed the basics in a ½ day workshop with me already or have had some experience at the torch in the past.
You could choose to learn the following in this workshop-
Creating patterns with enamel powers
Hollow beads
Patterns with stringers
Sculpting shapes
Advanced patterns
All materials and tuition are included in the workshop fee.
